Groups are small collections of music put together by our users which attempt to capture a particular
scene, image, feeling or taste in 5 items or less.
This is, essentially, one of those 'desert island CDs' lists, but in user-generated
categories.
Groups are created in the My Account area and require (currently) User Level 3. User level is increased through participation such as posting and uploading. posted: Jan 23, 2008
I'll be trying to think of something to put together for a group. I'm thinking I'll make a group where all the songs are from my favorite artist and the different songs will point to a certain mood or have some kind of point. Naa -- just didn't want to bother making another table. laziness, really. But, if it's going to be an interesting thing to do, then I'll expand the functionality.
Oh yeah, I've also been waiting until I can make a group that's more than for songs. Has that been changed? I was thinking along the lines of an album compilation of your own making (like 10-12 songs). posted: Feb 09, 2008

I'm gonna give this a shot sometime soon if the number has changed. I want to make a compilation or something. I'm thinking about Screeching Weasel guides in which one of the groups is all their humorous while another is their profound songs, etc. That would be awesome. I'll try to create groups using music from other bands too, of course. I think I want to make my own drinking one, I just need it to be longer. I should rewrite that to make use of the tags, i think, yeh. Maybe if you go and tag a bunch of stuff, then on that 'groups' page, you simply name the tag from which it should create the group.
So you mean we should purposely tag the songs with something really unique in order to get them all together? I'm just making sure we're on the same page here. I'm down for that if that's what you're saying. posted: Jul 08, 2008
Yeah, I think if you tag a few songs with "Fornication Songs", then I can modify that groups tool so that instead of choosing artists/albums/tracks, you simply name the tag, and it slurps in all those artists/albums/tracks...
You don't even have to like math!
